Growing with Adventure in Baños de Agua Santa
Baños de Agua Santa, also known as “a little piece of heaven,” is famous for its countless waterfalls, rock walls, and rivers where adventure sports can be enjoyed. This time, we had the opportunity to experience these activities with the youngest members of the family, and we discovered that many of them are perfectly suitable for children.
The adventure began in the afternoon, after the kids finished their classes, although these activities can also be done in the morning. Surrounded by green mountains and along the river, we found the San Martín rock wall, which offers different climbing routes. We started with the most basic one (30 meters) so the children could adapt and overcome their fear of the unknown.
Before starting, our guides, Santiago and Fernando, gave us a safety briefing. Between conversation and laughter, the nerves began to show, but everyone was excited and ready to try. It was impressive how quickly the kids climbed—gaining confidence almost instantly. Before we knew it, they had completed the activity and were treating it like just another fun game.
From the ground, the rock looked imposing. You could clearly see the route marked by natural holds in the wall, which served as steps. Personally, it made me happy to watch the children’s faces as they figured out where to place their hands and feet. When they reached the top, their smiles showed they had conquered their fear of the unknown.

We took advantage of our visit to Baños de Agua Santa, and the adventure didn’t end there. In the middle of the cloud forest and above the river, cables formed an adrenaline-filled circuit where we tried canopy, also known as zip-lining. This activity felt very safe while still delivering a strong dose of excitement. By this point, the children were already confident using the harnesses, so they simply let go—enjoying the ride with laughter and excited screams, making it a truly unforgettable afternoon full of joy.
